Ms. Lane grew up in DeKalb County and attended Chamblee High School. She later moved to California where she graduated from Temescal Canyon High School.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Agnes Scott College. While at Agnes Scott, Ms. Lane studied for a Dual Degree in Nursing with Emory University and participated in various STEM activities including the Atlanta Science Festival held at Centennial Park, focusing on genetics and neuroscience. 

 

After graduating from Agnes Scott College, her experience in tutoring and speed teaching at the festivals and in her neighborhood, led her to combine her interest in science with her desire to educate. She became a corp member for Teach For America and trained in Fulton County Summer Schools before arriving at Banneker High School. She has one son and enjoys going to the park, shopping and dancing. Ms. Lane is an advocate for innovative education and enjoys creating a positively vigorous learning environment.
