SCHOOL PROGRAM

JUNIOR ACHIEVMENT MAGNET BUSINESS ACADEMY

Through the time, talent and resources of corporate, education and community partners, JA of Georgia inspires and prepares young people, K-12th grade, to succeed in a global economy. All programs align with Georgia's Common Core Performance Standards, to teach students about financial literacy, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness.

JA brings the real world to students, opening their minds to their full potential by bridging the business and education communities. The hallmark of JA is its unique use of business and community volunteers who deliver lessons that equip students with the knowledge and skills to succeed. The dynamic interaction between students and volunteers promotes active learning and brings theory to life, while also allowing students to see a real-world model of someone who can demonstrate the value of business on a first-hand basis. These learning experiences establish the foundation on which young people can build the skills and attitudes necessary to succeed in a fast-paced world.

Junior Achievement's high school programs help students make informed, intelligent decisions about their future, and foster skills that will be useful in the business world.

With a range of programs, Junior Achievement teaches about concepts relating to entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and global workforce readiness. The volunteers bring real-life business experience and guidance into the classroom at a time that represents an essential crossroads for young people.

Our Core Values:

  • Belief in the boundless potential of young people

  • Commitment to the principals of market-based economics and entrepreneurship

  • Passion for what we do and honesty, integrity, and excellence in how we do it

  • Respect for the talents, creativity, perspectives, and backgrounds of all individuals

  • Belief in the power of partnership and collaboration

Junior Achievement inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. By bridging the business and education communities with hands-on, experiential programs, JA empowers young people to own their future economic success. From kindergarten through 12th grade, JA programs provide financial literacy education to students that are both unique and exciting, yet align with Georgia Performance Standards. Learning about economics - whether it is a concept as simple as "wants and needs" or as complex as "modern international trade" – JA delivers a valuable and enriching experience for Georgia's youth.
